This season we’ll have a weekly segment called “The Big One” where we feature a game with post-game articles and/or analysis including video from our friends at Coon Rapids Sports on YouTube.  Our second “Big One” of the 2010 season will be Champlin Park @ Anoka on Friday, September 10th (7:00pm).

Champlin Park enters the game on a high after roughing up Conference newcomer Robbinsdale Armstrong 32-7 last week.  The Rebels always seems to have a quality running back and this year is no different.  Michael Sales, a sophomore, is their feature back and in his first start he carried the ball 27 times for 225 yards and five touchdowns against Armstrong.  Stopping him will be Anoka’s primary goal.

Anoka enters this game a little down after losing 45-23 to Blaine last week.  The Tornadoes fell behind early but seemed to find their stride about halfway through the 2nd quarter.  Unfortunately they ran out of gas and Blaine was able to regain control of the game.  A week later and the inexperienced now have some experience which should make them a little more comfortable under the “Friday Night Lights”.  If they can control the clock and keep Sales and the rest of the Champlin Park offense off the field they should have a shot at winning this game.

Here are the A-B-C games this week:

* Andover @ Park Center
* (3) Blaine @ Maple Grove
* Coon Rapids @ Robbinsdale Armstrong
